This book was published in 2007 but forecasted the economic decline of the American Empire which we are observing today. Unlike western historians who claim that American invasions are required for protecting freedoms and fighting terrorism and communism this author correctly explains that all American invasions and wars, without exceptions, have been started by the American Empire for territorial gains and imperial expansion. Far from promoting democracy, American imperialism changes regimes which are democratic and impose ruthless dictators will to work with the American Empire to exploit these American “colonies.” In 2010, I published the sequel to Rise and Fall of the American Empire, American Invasions: Canada to Afghanistan: 1775 to 2010. The book explains the global shift from the west to Asia. Where once Asia’s over-population prevented economic growth it is now the engine of its economic growth. For five centuries before low income people moved from poor and rich countries alike to the developed industrialized world to seek higher paying jobs. Since the accidental discovery of the Mexican maqiladoras the developed west found ways of moving production from the First World to the Third World to be competitive by reducing labour cost. This global shift has been helped by containerization and the internet. China has been polluting its own economy to produce industrial goods for the west.

The book explains why the growing trade deficit between the US and China has nothing to do with the under valuation of the Yuan. As the recent debt crisis show the US has been living beyond its means for decades now. It can only do that by importing more than it exports. The evidence shows that the US has been borrowing heavily from China, Japan, OPEC nations and Caribbean bankers, among others. This borrowing requires lenders to buy $US which appreciates the $US. This higher value for the $US reduces US exports and increase US imports. This deficit in trade is necessary to offset the capital surplus from the foreign loans. The US trade deficit will only fall when the US starts to live within its means and start paying for its interninable wars by imposing taxes on its own citizens.

American obsession with wars and over-consumption of food, useless gadgets, and every conceivable disposable junk, not only degradates the planet but is bankrupting its citizens and its government. It is this ridiculous misuse of its limited economic resources which will bring about its impending demise.

The book shows why the US was never a peaceful, freedom loving democracy or republic. It began as a warmongering slave aristocracy and has remained largely an elitist and racist military-industrail complex. President Barack Obama lives up to his role as a dedicated warmongering commander-in-chief with no more vision for change than any previous American president. Good, smart Americans who can think outside the box are never elected to political office. The system which is still in place was set up by the original founding fathers. No American president ever deviated from the goal of expanding the empire by military means and false propaganda. No country has ever been a threat to the American Empire. But the American Empire has been, and continues to be, a threat to every freedom loving nation.

Subject: The Rise and Fall of the American Empire

I felt I should send you a note as I just finished reading your book today. What a powerful book it is with SO much information. You say you are not a historian but I doubt if many historians have your knowledge level in the many topics you wrote about. I found that I was studying your book, as opposed to reading it. It contains so much information that I wanted to absorb and retain.

I wanted to thank you for taking the time to write such a book. I’ve found that some people change their attitudes, specifically racist ideology, when they are given accurate information in a nonthreatening way. Your book exposes the history of First Nations so that readers have information to remove the racism from their thinking caused by lack of knowledge or mistruths.

There was so much of your book that touched me personally. I became aware of some of the horrors of colonization when I was 19 years old and travelling in Fiji back in 1979. (Around this time I was also becoming aware of horrors in Canada due to colonization). I was treated so kindly by so many people in Fiji. I lived with an East Indian family for a month and also stayed in some native Fijiaan villages. I became aware of challenges faced by these people but felt that the problems in this country did not orginate with these two races but rather were a direct result of colonization, and I voiced this opinion when I returned to Canada. Your book exposes so many of the horrors that come with colonization.

I noticed you have accurate knowledge of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints. Racism is so extreme within their theology. It is actually part of their belief system that First Nation people will return to being “white and delightsome” if they become righteous as they were turned “dark and loathsome” because of their unrighteous behaviour. They believe those of African ancestory were less righteous in the previous life and marked with their colour so that white people would know who they are and not mix with them. There is nothing in their theology about East Indians so I’m not sure how their colour fits? I was glad that Romney didn’t get to be President of the USA. That thought was frightening to me, although I’m not impressed with the country as is.

You expose the land mine situation in Cambodia for what it is. The United States is such a super disgrace in regards to this situation. In January I was in the land mine museum in Cambodia which is adjacent to a land mine victim orphanage. I experienced a gut reaction that I couldn’t control and ran out sobbing. This is definately not my typical behavior. It was difficult to explain to the Cambodians how it sickened me that a country that I have any connection to could contribute to such autrocities. Having worked nine years as a paramedic I have a good understanding of the pain and ongoing horror the injuries inflicted by land mines can cause.

Thank you for writing your book. I decided to read it as well as reading Duncan Green’s book cover to cover. I felt that I was just significantly lacking in background knowledge with Latin American studies and felt the reading would be beneficial. I will be circulating your book for others to read as the knowledge you shared should be known.

The American Empire is into its ninth year of its failed invasion of Afghanistan. My book published in 2007 forecasted this failed invasion as well as the current economic decline of the American Empire. It explains why the invasions by George W. Bush into Iraq and Afghanistan are a continuation of American warmongering since its invasion of Canada in 1775. It explains the inherent racism in the United Sates and why Barak Obama is not a Black president but another White president with some African blood in his gene pool. As America’s new commander-in-chief he is no less of a warmonger than any of his predecessors including George W. He co-opts NATO, China and Russia to do America’s dirty deeds not because he is inherently less unilateral than George W. but because of the relative economic decline of the American Empire since 2000.

It shows that these current invasions are not unique but a continuation of American expansionism which began by expanding from 13 tiny English colonies across a continent to Hawaii, the Pacific and the Middle East. It wants to be the most powerful as well as the most evil empire the world has ever known. George W. Bush was no exception in starting wars. All American presidents did. So is Obama. Obama is expanding the war in Afghanistan and Pakistan and threatening Iran.
